Ten Years Have Passed
Ten years have passed since the day you left,
When I was just turning seventeen
That's the day of my life I wish I didn't have
How could you leave me when I was still in my teens?
Ten years have passed and I'm still missing you
You were never forgotten and I always think of you
I miss your smile, I miss your eyes, I miss the whole you
How could you leave me? I'm terribly missing you!
Ten years have passed and I've been quite good
Not an angel with zero mistakes but I still go by the book
Finished school, worked and all I need now is to learn how to cook
How could you leave me when you had not been around long enough to just lean back and look?
Ten years have passed and you've got sixteen grandchildren
The youngest is eight, the eldest in Melbourne
What's sad is you won't be able to see my children
How could you leave me? I'm crying and my eyes feel burnt!
Ten years have passed, I still cry to sleep
When I have the sudden rush to have your presence in the crib,
Do you feel what I feel or hear me cry?
How could you leave me when I haven't had enough of you in my life?
Ten years have passed,
I'm still wishing you're still alive...
